Based on a true story, LITTLE SECRET follows the lives of a young girl and three women who share a secret that will change their lives forever.
Adopted by a loving family after facing the loss of her parents, Kat (Mariana Goulart) led a life full of adventures, sailing around the world. Now in her teenage years she is trying to fit into a “normal” life – something that proves to be much harder than she expects. After discovering a secret that threatens her life, Kat wonders if her dreams are still possible.
The keeper of the secret, Kat’s adoptive mother Heloisa (Julia Lemmertz) is a strong, loving woman, a dedicated mother who struggles to maintain the family together in the face of an unpredictable future. Jeanne (Maria Flor), a beautiful young woman from the Amazon region of Brazil, falls in love with Robert (Errol Shand), a New Zealander, and discovers that her possibilities are infinite – but fate has plans of its own. Barbara (Fionnula Flanagan), a stern, cold Englishwoman, is used to getting what she wants. When the past comes calling, she sets out on a journey to rediscover love.
The journeys of these three women will cross borders and show that in a world where people are pulled apart by racism and tragedy, friendship, tolerance and love can still prevail.

JANE - The Ulster Soldier's Daughter -British series

JANE

The Ulster Soldier’s Daughter

Jane’s early childhood experiences of tragedies and triumphs in the 1860’s regimented and callous world of English army camps, prepare her for the challenges she will face in life.

She is determined to make a difference to the underprivileged widows and their children’s lives by passing on the knowledge learnt from her Ulster soldier father, John. This teaching success with lower ranked families – against the army’s Rules of Conduct – now threatens John’s army career.

Later, as a spirited young woman, living in London – free from army regulations – Jane meets and marries Louis, who shares similar passions of music and education. However, Louis’ strong Germanic heritage soon clashes with Jane’s fierce independence, and when the family firm sends him to Australia unexpectedly, a severe rift develops between them.

With her young son, Jane reluctantly follows her husband over treacherous seas to salvage their marriage, although she is surprised by the presence of stowaway Henry Martin, a man from her past. Still at sea, Jane faces the struggle between the temptations of being drawn into an adoring admirer’s arms or returning to a married life of turmoil in a new and distant colony.

JANE – The Ulster Soldier’s Daughter is a feature drama script adapted from one of the true Australian Pioneer stories and books are written by Carmel JOYCE.
Follow Jane Duncan’s true-life journey and her contribution to Australia as a pioneer, in the sequel screenplay script, THE JANE FACTOR.
